A turn of 20th century diamond fringe tiara/necklace, graduating from the centre formed by thirteen knife-edge bars, the central bar set at the top with an old cut-diamond estimated to weigh 0.85 carats, each bar terminating to an old-cut diamond and embellished with small singe-diamond millegrain-set collets, the base consisting of eight single-stone diamond collets connected with seven triangular shaped diamond-set plaques, all the diamonds except of central stone estimated to weigh a further total of 8 carats, mounted in platinum to yellow gold back and attached to silver-gild frame, accompanied by detachable back necklace section set with further thirteen old-cut diamonds estimated to weigh a further total of 2 carats, circa 1900, bearing later French import marks circa 1920s, measuring 4.8 x 12.2cm, gross weight 36.9 grams.
This antique tiara/necklace is in very good condition for its age. Bearing French import marks for platinum and 18ct gold, the frame probably later made in gilded silver.
