Des Granges Late Recordon. A Rare 18ct Rose Gold Keywind Duplex Quarter Repeater Pocket Watch C1818 Dial: A superb 18ct gold dial with raised Roman gold numerals outer dotted minute track and engine turned centre. The original blued steel Breguet moon hands complimenting the dial beautifully. Case: The excellent heavy rose gold case English hallmarked for London 1818 with engine turned back cover. The inner cover numbered and signed Des Granges Late Recordon Cockspur Street Charing Cross London. The case maker was Thomas Hardy, a very famouse case maker of his time. The top of the pendant lifts up and turns then is depressed to make the watch chime. Movement: The gilt metal finished movement with a flat arm balance, slow fast regulation Duplex escapement hanging barrel and the wheels for the repeating works visible. The hammers and gongs are also visable. The watch chimes the hours and quarters clearly. This watch is indeed rare and important as it is double signed by Des Granges late Recordon who was the main agent in London for Abraham Louis Breguet.
