The Object System Series by Nathaniel Wojtalik takes industrialized forms and distills them through a lens of traditional craft. The base of the Sabbagh Billot table is attached by a series of intricately hand cut tenons that pass through the top, revealing the construction of the joint. The tenons became known colloquially as "metropolis tenons" after a visitor to the studio saw them during assembly and thought they looked like a city scape. This table was the root of the unique joinery method which has been carried into subsequent pieces. Each piece is unique and hand made in the Brooklyn studio.
