Vintage Lilac Ribbed Glass Decorative Bottle with Amethyst Ball Stopper
Vintage Lilac Ribbed Glass Decorative Bottle with Amethyst Ball Stopper

Vintage Lilac Ribbed Glass Decorative Bottle with Amethyst Ball Stopper

Located in Coral Gables, FL

Beautiful vintage decorative glass bottle in a soft lilac tone, featuring a rounded body, finely ribbed surface and spherical amethyst glass stopper. The bottle has a balanced, globular form with a broad, softly rounded body that gives it a graceful and sculptural presence. Its lavender-toned glass shifts subtly between pale lilac, smoky violet and delicate plum depending on the light. This gentle variation gives the piece a luminous and serene quality, especially when displayed near a window, on a mirrored tray or against a light-colored surface. The entire body is covered with extremely fine horizontal ribbing, creating a continuous optical texture across the glass. As light moves over the surface, the ribs produce subtle changes in tone and depth, making the bottle appear slightly different from every angle. The texture adds movement and character without overwhelming the simplicity of the form. The short neck is surrounded by a textured circular rim and finished with a rich amethyst-colored glass stopper topped by a polished sphere. The darker stopper creates a beautiful contrast with the pale lilac body, while echoing its rounded shape and giving the bottle a compact, harmonious silhouette. Bottles of this type belonged to the world of decorative dressing-table objects and could be used for perfume, eau de cologne, fragrance, oils or bath salts. For many decades, such bottles were displayed on vanities, dressing tables, mirrored trays and bathroom shelves...
