The word "Boucherouite" means rag or torn clothes in the Moroccan Arabic language. Vintage Moroccan "Boucherouite" rug was hand-woven entirely with cut-up pieces from the fabric of old clothes. This is providing the tribal women and their families settling down in the village to have a new source of income to support their families. The rug is designed to be fully functional on either side. The top side is woven similar to a rag or a shag rug. The back is flat-woven similar to a kilim.

This amazing beautiful Kashan Joshegan rug from the mid 1900s Iran was hand-knotted with a unique all-over "weeping willow" pattern consisting of interconnected sub-geometric design, consisting mostly of diamond shapes and rendered in red, French blue, and dark blue. It features the “Weeping Willow Trees” or the “Tree of Life' ' design in a repeated fashion in various colors including blue, green, red, cream, and pink. It is enclosed with a rectilinear palmette Meander border flanked with inner and outer double guard bands, and subsidiary crenelated fence border stripes. Joshegan is a town in north-central Iran southwest of the city of Kashan.

Wonderful vintage Qashqai tribal area rug from the mid 1900s from the Lori or Qashqai tribes of Southwest Persia. A large medallion almost covers the whole rug with small geometric designs in various colors set throughout the medallion. It has dark blue spandrels with small geometric forms. The rug has a very unique design with all-natural vegetable dyes which adds to the beauty of the rug.

A vintage Kurdish Bidjar runner in a geometric medallion pattern set on an abrash terracotta red field color from the late 1900s. There are five medallions in the field connected via a line ending in a smaller medallion on each end. The border consists of three narrow borders one in French Blue, the other in brown and the last one in pale yellow or ivory. Interesting and very charming design items include small animal and human forms throughout the field and the borders. The rug is also dated 1329 in the Islamic calendar which corresponds to 1911. A wonderful rug that brings beauty and heritage to any space it is displayed on.
