Antique Afghan Turkmen Ersari Rug circa 1920
About the Item
This rug is hand woven in Afghanistan. Known as Ersari these Turkaman woven rugs dates back many centuries.Ersari rugs were made with a lustrous wool that could absorb vegetable dyes superbly. The guls on the well-preserved Ersari carpets are known as gulli guls which are merely a tribal characteristic. The stepped medallion borders are also exclusively Ersari.
This Ersari carpet is made with all organic dyes and high quality wool.there are no restoration in the carpet and it is in mint original condition. Measures: 9’4”x7’8”.
