Sourced from the estate of the late Oklahoma artist Clair Seglam. An airforce man for most of his life, Seglem only began painting after his retirement. Most known for his vibrant portraits and nudes, he completed a vast portfolio of work before he died in 2020.
This piece is part of a collection that was found in one of his old sketchbooks. It was hidden away in our warehouse when we happened upon it during inventory one day. To our surprise, the notebook held a jewel box of unseen work.
This piece is on a half sheet of watercolor paper. The sheet combines two paintings, one of which seems to be a first draft of this piece. Upon purchase, this piece will be carefully cut from the other. (Unless the buyer purchases...
