Austin Mid-Century ReDesign

The home is a mid-century bungalow, located around the corner from Austin's Barton Springs. It was very important to the clients that we nod to the home's roots, keeping the limestone on the fireplace and bringing in other mid century elements to preserve the character of this house. When we opened up the space by removing a bedroom, I thought it was important we panel the walls in this beautiful sahara oak from Shinnoki. The wood panels add a layer of warmth and texture that are balanced by the added windows in the space, balancing that warmth with some natural light. We fell in love with this green quartzite from Stratus Surfaces. The rich green stone paired with these amazing pink stools from Kooij really made the kitchen playful & fun, just like the family that lives in this home.
