Award-winning Kenzai

Kenzai is a large home overlooking the ocean, which we renovated for clients inspired by Japanese and Scandinavian design. A major focus was on the use of sustainable materials. The renovation process resulted in a well-crafted and unpretentious home for a family living its environmental values. The structure of concrete, timber, steel and glass was softened with felt-like acoustic wall-linings, small-format tiles, shibori–dyed linen, wool carpet, silk and velvet, in colours resonant of the Australian coastline. Colour and texture were brought together skilfully to create an exemplary, bespoke whole.
