Big Sky House
Vacation Home by Commune Design in Big Sky, MT
The 10,000 sq. foot, seven-bedroom house at the very top of Andesite Ridge in Big Sky Montana, was purchased by our client while it was under construction. They fell in love with the incredible views, but the plans in place didn’t reflect what the client wanted for their vacation home, so we were given a clean slate to completely redesign the interiors. They wanted the house to be highly functional, for family vacations with their four teenage sons, but also for it to feel refined and beautifully considered. We only kept in place several walls made from a local travertine and added natural oak floors, walnut millwork, Domingue plaster walls and ceilings, and bronze hardware by Van Cronenburg throughout.
