East Hampton

by Andrew Suvalsky Designs in East Hampton, NY

A beach house in East Hampton, New York, redesigned for a Bloomberg Media executive who wanted a coastal getaway that still worked hard for entertaining. The house is architecturally unusual, and the brief was a strong design that felt beachy without losing the warmth to live in year-round.

The palette is light and tropical, a nod to the owner's Venezuelan roots. Creams, seafoam blue-greens, and melon tones set the base, leaving room for deliberate hits of bolder color. Light-wood furniture and white linen draperies on every window keep the interior in constant dialogue with the pool and decks outside.

Downstairs is a different world. The owner wanted a true entertainment hub, distinct from the first-floor living room, so we built a full sit-at bar and a custom Blatt pool table, with bar stools and lighting designed to echo brightly colored pool balls. Beachy, powerful, easy, and playful.
