Flatiron

The apartment overlooks Madison Square Park in Flatiron. This was an interesting project because my clients are based in Mumbai, so even though this isn't their home, they still wanted touches of home for their short visits to NYC.

One way of thinking about what constitutes a perfect home is that it should reflect both the client's personality and provide a sanctuary from the outside world. I like to focus on layering because each layer brings a colorful, cozy, and comfortable feel that makes the home a delightful space for all seasons.

Within that vision, it's also worth noting that my client has a strong eye and had a clear vision for what she wanted for her perfect home. That's why there are a many bold, statement pieces - more than I would normally recommend into any one room -- that gave my client the opportunity to create a perfect second home where should could express a more fun approach to home.
