Collected Objects: The Gramercy Residence - Interiors Vanessa Katzen Design
A sneak peek. This Gramercy Park residence for global fashion executive Rachna Shah required a different approach: warmth within restraint. The custom millwork in warm wood creates gallery-quality breathing room around each object. Nothing crowds. Nothing competes.
Objects speak. A brass horse sculpture. A ceramic vessel in natural clay. Fashion monographs stacked with intention. A framed drawing. A brass sculptural form. Each piece selected not for decoration but for presence and conversation.
The curation philosophy remains the same: contemporary pieces sourced for singular voice alongside carefully selected vintage and collected finds. But here, the warmth of wood becomes a counterpoint to sculptural forms. Objects are displayed like they belong in a collector's cabinet, not a showroom.
Every shelf becomes a composition. Every object earns its placement. The brass horse catches light. The ceramic vessel creates curve against linear wood grain. Fashion books anchor intellectual life.
The result is a residence that feels lived in by someone with exquisite taste. Collected over time. Refined through discovery. Quiet luxury that breathes.
