LONDON FLAT
This apartment renovation for an American transplant is set in the idyllic London neighborhood of Primrose Hill. With views over Primrose Hill and the Regent’s Park, this postwar building contrasts the neighborhood’s typical victorian and narrow row homes in it’s scale and concrete construction. The owner was drawn to the patterns, warmth, and textures of classic English clubs and tasked us to create our interpretation more suitable to the modern building. Our restrained approach creates a home that is inspired by the city’s past but rooted in today. Heavy materials, such as the naturally patterned marble bathroom, carpeted bedrooms and the dark oak kitchen and flooring are paired with minimal detailing to create a warmth that will evolve and grow with the space.
