Ocean Front Oasis
Beach House by Mark Boone, Inc. in La Jolla, CA
A true collaboration of designer, architect, builder and client, this dramatic, sculptural, organically inspired home appears to rise from the rocky outcropping on the sandy beach just steps away. Designed to withstand the reality of a beach environment, materials such as architectural bronze, Venetian plaster, and custom cut-stone from Turkey were implemented to keep maintenance to a minimum. All furnishings were custom designed, recalling the faceted quality of natural minerals and stone. Reclaimed walnut was sculpted into unique cocktail tables, the Master bed and handrails for a timber staircase. Extensive use of natural sheepskin and hand hooked carpets soften and give a stylish, sexy vibe to the home. Architecture by Tim Martin AIA.
