This vacation home is in the exclusive Montage ocean resort in Laguna Beach. There are 25 private lots on the grounds of the Montage resort, and the owners of those homes have all of the amenities that the hotel offers, including room service. With their main home in Las Vegas, the clients wanted their 2-story oceanside house to suit a casual lifestyle, with no formal living room or dining room, but with a hint of glitz. Starting from the entry, Philip Nimmo designed a chandelier of magical cascading bubbles that starts above the first floor and ends at the lower level. In the master bedroom, he designed a platform bed with lighting underneath to give the impression that it is floating and set it against a wall of backlit onyx. Downstairs, Nimmo created the ultimate home entertainment complex, complete with home theater, bar, game tables, pinball as well as guest rooms and his and her offices. The owners affectionately call their property "the ultimate timeshare."
