Sessanta

Sessanta is a neighbourhood restaurant in SoHo from restauranteurs John McDonald and Steven Eckler offering a menu of coastal Italian and Sicilian cuisine. Martin Brudnizki Design Studio in New York looked to the avant-garde aesthetic of Giò Ponti and the glamour of Federico Fellini to create a scheme that perfectly captures the playful and witty mood of mid-century Italy. The interior displays a warm and organic feeling, with natural materials and an earthy palette punctuated with accents of colour in the leather seating and contemporary artwork adorning the walls. Devised into a coffee house, restaurant and elevated dining counter, Sessanta feels intimate yet still retains an airy feel, as large sky lights, foliage and mirrors complement the wood panelling and add to the modernist feeling.
