The Blue House

Family Home by OMNU in Lisbon, PT

This was a traditional 1960's portuguese house.

Throughout the house, blue was the best choice for the walls as a soft tone was needed to contrast with the pearl doors, skirting board and wood floors.

With this blue canvas, the classical elements and gold frames, which are so loved by the owner, are highlighted.

Most of the furniture was designed exclusively for the house, from the kitchen in blue with the emperor marble benches (a much used material throughout the house) to the wardrobes inspired by classical design.

The melange of various decades and origins, from french style elements to mid-century italian pieces, are another characteristic throughout the project. A mix of small details is included, from art deco ceramics to the 1960's coloured murano glassware.

A fresh and young vision and approach to the classical style where period pieces co-habit with design icons and items designed exclusively for the client. The colours and patterns of the fabrics and wallpapers enrich the environment and provide it with a modern touch.
