Traditional Residence Williamsburg, VA

Finding a new home for a retirement couple moving to the area was difficult. First floor living and a neighborhood with amenities was a must. This home, originally built in the 1980's was in great shape and had good "bones" but outdated in many regards. Calling on the original builder and interior designer Kelsie Hornby was the key to success. The couple was able to go back to CA to get their existing home ready for market while the work was being carried out in VA. Working long distance is pretty normal for Hornby as she has clients on both coasts. The interior scope of the project included raising the foyer ceiling to create a grander foyer, remodeling the bathrooms, painting the entire home to cover stained woodwork throughout, "beefing up" some of the crown molding, closing up a doorway, new fireplace surrounds, recessed lighting, and a total kitchen remodel.

New furnishings mixed with old give it a comfortable style.
