What I wanted for my 2,200-sf country retreat in Hillsdale, New York was for it to look like a Scandinavian summerhouse, but a little more dressed up. I also ramped up the comfort level with an invitingly textural fabric mix- typical to all of my interiors. I mixed in some of my favorite Scandinavian pieces like Hans Wegner's Papa Bear Chairs in the family room & Arne Jacobsen's Drop Chairs which surround Chris Lehrecke’s simple, chic dining table. “Like the midcentury Nordic designers he admires,” wrote Veranda, “he has mastered the art of creating spaces that are warm and uncluttered.”
