Crystalline Glaze Ceramic Ikebana Vase, Blue, American Studio Pottery, 2003

Located in Clifton Springs, NY

The vintage studio pottery ceramic ikebana vase is decorated with crystalline glaze in striking, bright blue and yellow palette. The vase was hand thrown on a wheel; blue color crystals on muted yellow colored base were grown in a kiln during a very long, controlled firing. Each crystalline piece is unique due to the nature of the glaze. The vase was allowed to develop an abundance of distinct, graphic crystals, creating a free-flowing abstract pattern and adding rich texture to the minimally shaped piece. The opening is placed asymmetrically on the side of the vase and is outfitted with flower frog. The vase was made by Wizards of Clay...

An ocean of sinuous, sweeping lines frozen in motion, this large-scale ceramic Art Nouveau planter by Hector Guimard (executed by Gilardoni et Brault, Choisy-le-Roi), demonstrates in an arresting array of earthen greenish and purplish hues, and is sensational from every angle. The planter is constructed of a central component with two flanking portions in slightly reduced proportions, unified by the complex constellation of swirling lines and undulating surfaces that adorn the entire composition. Vintage Japanese Shell Ceramic Vase or Planter in Ivory Crackle Glaze

Located in Oklahoma City, OK

A beautifully sculptural vintage ceramic shell form vase crafted in Japan, featuring an elegant clam shell silhouette with richly textured ridged detailing and a soft ivory crackle glaze that gives the piece warmth, depth, and timeless character. This highly decorative vessel is designed in the form of an open clam shell resting on a shell-form pedestal base, creating a striking organic silhouette that feels both coastal and elevated. The softly aged cream glaze with subtle crazing adds beautiful vintage charm, while the dimensional texture captures light beautifully from every angle. Marked “Made in Japan” on the underside, this piece reflects the highly collectible mid-century Japanese decorative ceramics that remain favorites among designers for their versatility and sculptural appeal. Perfect as a decorative vase, cachepot, planter, or standalone object, this shell vessel works beautifully in coastal interiors, Palm Beach-inspired spaces, traditional homes, and layered, collected interiors. It pairs effortlessly with rattan, brass, linen, blue-and-white porcelain, and antique woods for that refined old-money coastal aesthetic. Ideal for styling: — Coffee table centerpieces — Console and bookshelf styling — Bathroom vanity or powder room décor — Guest bedroom coastal accents — Palm Beach and seaside interiors — Orchid planter...
