How much is a Globe-Wernicke Grade 299 worth?

1 Answer
How much is a Globe-Wernicke Grade 299 worth?
How much a Globe-Wernicke Grade 299 is worth varies. Size and condition are two of the biggest factors influencing the value of bookcases produced by the American furniture maker. Selling prices for Grade 299 pieces are often in the hundreds, but large examples in excellent condition may be worth upwards of $2,000 or more. A certified appraiser or knowledgeable antique dealer can provide you with a more definitive valuation based on an inspection of your piece. On 1stDibs, find a variety of Globe-Wernicke bookcases.

Industrial Rustic Pair Modular Stacking Barrister Bookcase by Globe-Wernicke
By Globe Wernicke
Located in Topeka, KS
Handsome vintage Industrial Rustic pair of modular stacking sectional or barrister bookcases by Globe-Wernicke composed of distressed beige metal frames including 4 tall sections & 1 shorter section each with glass inset door fronts, metal pulls, & upward slide door mechanisms, 2 bases, & 2 tops. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. Specifically, these cabinets have an all over distressed finish including a few nicks, dings, & rust that we purposely left alone as we appreciate the worn vintage look but they are structurally solid. Please see photos, zoom in for details, and see long description as they are part of the condition report. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, Early to Mid-20th Century.
