Danielle Krysa is a Canadian artist with a BFA in Visual Arts from the University of Victoria and a post-grad in design from Sherian College. She began her career as a painter, but her love for graphic design quickly shifted her interest towards mixed media, specifically collages filled with narratives, negative space, and pop cultural references. In her most recent work, Krysa takes us on a journey, depicting the flourishing transformation of ugliness and pain into something elegant and precious. In these pieces, she asks us if the broken can still be beautiful. Krysa has shown her work all over the world, including shows in the UK, Australia, and throughout North America. In addition to creating her own art, Krysa is actively involved in other aspects of the art world. For example, online she is known as the Jealous Curator, and in print, she is the author of “Creative Block”, “Your Inner Critic is a Big Jerk”, “A Big Important Art Book—Now with Women”, and her first children’s book, “How to Spot an Artist."
