We are proud to present for the first time in more than thirty years, the original painting of American artist Peter Korling.
IT is with please that we present a series of early original, mixed media works on black paper by Peter Korling. These works evoke a style that combines surrealism and expressionism with inherantly American imagery. This is the first time these works have been offered for sale.
Peter Korling was classically trained at the Chicago Institute of Art, and then moved to New York where he became a member of the Art Students League. He settled in California where he worked and exhibited throughout his life.
"Danger" , is an mixeds media work on black paper, depicting a train station in Chigao where the artist was from. This is an original work, signed, executed c.1950, with an image dimension of 11 x 10 inches, offered in good original condition, currently unframed. The painting was acquired from the private collection of the artist and his family.
