About the Item

PASCAL JARRION "PROGRESS" OIL ON PANEL, SIGNED 2024 36 X 30 INCHES _____________________________________________________________ __________ Pascal Jarrion was born in Perpignan, France, in 1961. It is a region known for its Catalan culture and an area that has influenced many artists before him including Picasso, Van Gogh and Maillol. After attending fine arts school at Les Beaux Arts de Perpignan, Pascal decided to take his love of art and tattooing to London where there were chances for a career were not available in France at the time. He opened a small tattoo studio and spent the first six years refining his craft, always drawing and working from his own designs to try to give the customer something original and different. Slowly Pascal began to develop a style unusual in the tattoo industry--a mix of cubism, art deco and classical art--which has distinguished him in the field and earned him a worldwide clientele. Living in Los Angeles for the last twelve years Pascal satisfies his creative energy by painting and sculpting which are his real passions. He enjoys working in many different mediums: oils, collage, mixed media, ceramic sculptures with hand-painted, patinated finishes, as well as bronze. This has led to exhibiting in-group and solo shows internationally including: Quest for Impact – BTAG, Barcelona, 2002 Japan Je T’Adore – The Ghetto, Tokyo, Japan, 2008 Purity In Motion – Sacred Gallery, NYC, 2011 Beverly Hills Art Show, CA, 2012 JNA Gallery, Santa Monica, CA, 2014 Tattoo Art Today – Somerset House, London, 2014 Palm Springs Modernism Show, CA – 2023, 2024. Pascal has gained a reputation for creativity in the disciplines of the great Cubists and Futurists, and has grown through the acquisitions and admiration of his paintings and sculpture by respected collectors, designers and museums across the country. In 2024, Pascal completed an important commission for a large sculpture in bronze for the Hilbert Museum of California Art, at Chapman University in Orange, CA.
