James Zamora's original figurative realism artworks explore reality and our impression of the complexity of our surroundings. His realistic still-life and “aisle paintings” are well-known throughout the US. Using different spatial compositions the artist translates common marketplace imagery into a stylized, elevated environment. Working in oil on canvas, he explores the representation of elements that surround us in daily life in unexpected still lifes. Zamora's artworks examine the particularity between the relationship of our eyes with the subtleties of our immediate reaction. His paintings investigate current supermarket trends and the response of the consumer captivated by the abundance of delightful choices. Since then he has exhibited his paintings in major Spanish cities as well as in France, Germany and Italy. As well as being a figurative painter he is a Professor of Art. He acted as cultural adviser and Director of the Office of Cultural Policy of the City of Gandia, Valencia.
