Yarn Figurative Sculptures

This blue and gold-colored figurative sculpture titled "Parting Lines" is an original artwork by Jedediah Morfit made of plaster, paint, yarn, and adhesive. This piece measures 38”h x 23"w x 14"d. BIO Jedediah Morfit received his MFA in sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2005, where he was awarded the Sylvia Leslie Herman Young Scholarship and the Award Of Excellence. He was a Fellow at the Center For Emerging Visual Artists from 2007-2009, and received a New Jersey Council On the Arts Fellowship for sculpture in 2009. He received the Louise Kahn Award for Sculpture from the Woodmere Art Museum in 2006, and was awarded the Dexter Jones Award for Bas Relief from the National Sculpture Society in 2011 and 2012. Federica Patera and Andrea Sbra Perego, namely tying literature and art with a thread. Their collaboration combines the experiences of both in a common work, with the intention of being a bridge, a confluence of the two disciplines. The duo was officially born in 2017 with the RAR project, which focuses on the value of the analogy in literature. At the heart of their investigation is the dynamic that leads reading to become writing, and other way the user to become a creator, a maker, mixing roles. The exchange that is established guarantees the transmission, that it goes beyond repetition and finds its completion in transformation. The eternity of an experience, whatever it is (physical, material, emotional, intellectual), is measured by its capacity to be an eternal breeding ground for discovery and knowledge. Their work was exhibited in solo shows by art galleries, such as Raffaella De Chirico Contemporary Art in Turin and Manuel Zoia Gallery in Milan, and in Art Fair such as ArtVerona and WOP in Lugano (CH). In 2021, they were finalists in the Cramum Award. My Emotional Baggage Carts are vessels to dispose of racial trauma. The act of making, weaves the sting of macro and microaggressions into the cart, freeing me from these constraints. Each recovered shopping cart is unique, but they all are woven with upcycled materials like rope, paracord, grocery bags, rope lights, beads, fabric, and bottle caps.
