19th C eight point star doll quilt from Berks County, Pennsylvania in fine condition.This super rare doll quilt is in a plexy frame and comes from a private Pennsylvania collection.

The Schoolhouse is one of America's favourite quilt patterns. This fine example is well designed with houses at right angles framing the primary group.

This concentric frames quilt is made entirely with 2 1/2" squares set end to end to create bands of color.

The four corner blocks are the same which visually contributes to the framed effect. Quilting in the white grid is done in feather patterns tiny stitches.

The red triangle border continues one of the fabrics in the quilt and frames the stars and diagonal grid very effectively.

The center applique is framed by a quilted scalloped oval. Quilting throughout the rest is a nicely done waffle pattern.

The sawtooth border makes a nice frame for the quilt. Measurements are 31" x 44. Pennsylvania origin; circa 1870's.

Continuing them to create the border of rectangles is a good frame. The quilt is in excellent, unwashed condition.

The inner zigzag border is an ideal frame. The quilt measures 29" x 39".

A zig zag around all of these makes a beautiful frame. The quilt is made of medium weight wools with a cotton back.

This quilt has been professionally laundered and sewn on linen and mounted on a wood stretcher frame.
