This Albast statue depicting Saint Christopher, beautiful polychrome Circa 1600 Alabaster

Great expressive little hands that were most likely from carved statues of saints or creche figures. Each hand measures around 2-3/4 to 3-1/4 inches long.

Standing 9.5 inches tall, this statue depicts a saint in flowing robes, gazing contemplatively to the right.

This is typical piece to be seen in the Catholic church with the Saints or Jesus statue inside.

The saint was canonized in 1729 by Benedict XIII and the statue was placed in 1731.
