Viewed against the light, the upper part of the sheet reveals an unexpected clue: a serpent within a crowned shield, with the cross of the Order of the Holy Spirit beneath it.

In the centre, a blank shield cartouche. The decoration extends across the entire surface in a harmonious display of botanical motifs.

All drawers have oval brass pull handles; the key escutcheons are inlaid in ebonized shield shapes. The locks are original, and four keys are present.
