The glazes have a cratered, volcanic effect typical of fat lava ceramics and recall French and European studio production of the 1960s–1970s.

The surface glaze has a cratered, almost volcanic texture with green tones – reminiscent of patinated copper - settling into the recesses, creating depth and a softly aged look.

Later imitation glazes lack this micro-cratering. The glaze is continuous and finely fused, exhibiting only the faintest granular texture visible under magnification.
