The 1958 Brussels World's Fair or "Expo 58" was the first major World Expo held after World War II and hosted over 41 million visitors.

The lamp base is made from a cast of the milk glass New York World Fair bottle that has been used as a lamp since the opening of the World Fair in opened in 1939.

The building was eventually torn down in 2006 to make way for a new building. A rare piece of Worlds Fair / Christian Science history.
