Alec Monopoly Figurative Paintings

American

In his sculptures, murals, prints and canvases, Alec Monopoly (born Alec Andon) invites his viewers to simultaneously critique and buy into ideas of celebrity, money, and fame.

Monopoly often depicts Rich Uncle Pennybags, the suited mascot of the board game that inspired the artist’s moniker. The mustachioed character, who frequently carries a money bag or demonstrates other conspicuous markers of wealth throughout the artist’s wry work, becomes a stand-in for capitalist greed.

Monopoly has also incorporated pop culture figures and characters including Bob Dylan, Patrick Bateman, Scrooge McDuck and Richie Rich into his street art practice. He has enjoyed exhibitions in Miami, Moscow and other cities.

"STUPID DOG" Pop Art Cartoon Character inspired by Courage the Cowardly Dog

By Randy Morales

Located in Los Angeles, CA

Creative Vice, the artist moniker of US Navy veteran Randy Morales, interprets nostalgic culture in his personal view of growing up in the 90’s. No pop can be any nostalgic time period with pop culture, but his focus would be on his simplistic childhood. Similar to his childhood the art is simplistic, not overloaded with text and other images, just straight to the point, with an almost rudimentary child art complex. Each piece is accompanied by his trademark equivocal face. The equivocal face represents that just because the piece is nostalgic it doesn’t mean happy times. It could bring back memories of your troubled youth or life-changing moments you had as a kid. Overall his artwork caters to the younger generation who are getting in touch with their younger self at that moment In their life where they can start to afford finer things as well as the other consumers who spent time with their kids...
