Terracotta signed by French artist Alexandre Descatoire (1874-1949) Alexandre Descatoire studied with André-Louis-Adolphe Laoust and then with Gabriel-Jules Thomas at the Beaux-arts in Paris; he became a teacher of this university in 1934 He won 2nd grand prix of Rome in 1902 and became a member of the Academie Beaux-arts in 1939. Member of Salon des artistes français, he has won many medals, and even a scholarship to travel in 1905 His creations are mostly dedicated to WW1 soldiers...
