A Taxco native, Pineda was among the most prominent of the many silversmiths to emerge from the mountain mining town beginning in the 1930s. He was one of the major modernist silversmiths in the 1950s, 1960s, and certainly into the 1970s. Pineda did extraordinary work, his works were individually crafted, and individually designed.
