Ben Frost Paintings

Australian

Australian contemporary artist Ben Frost is best known for his bold, irreverent Pop art. His instantly recognizable take on pop culture twists up everyday iconography from the world’s biggest brands. Subverting meaning and messages from the mainstream media, Frost’s scything commentary on advertising, entertainment and politics is both confronting and controversial.

Exhibiting internationally for the past two decades, Frost’s solo shows span London, New York, Sydney, Los Angeles, Toronto, Singapore, Berlin, Miami, Torino, Bangkok and San Francisco. His work has been featured extensively across media institutions such as the BBC, Wall Street Journal, Vogue and Harper's Bazaar.

Most notable fashion collaborations include working with Jeremy Scott to produce 2018's Fall/Winter Capsule Collection for Moschino, launching at Milan Fashion Week, and partnering with Carolina Herrera for a limited edition release of her 212 Pop! fragrance. Frost has also worked on projects with Pearl Jam, Rossignol, Mambo, Livid Music Festival and J&B Whiskey.

Frost's exhibition highlights encompass shows at the Institute of Modern Art, Brisbane; the MCA in Sydney; the Urban Nation Museum for Urban Contemporary Art, Berlin; and inclusion in an exclusive showcase of artists for "Pop the Streets" at Saatchi Gallery, London.

A beautifully rendered Damien Hirst painting defined by strong colors, classic Hirst motifs & a unique overall presence. Artist Bio: Damien Hirst is a British Conceptual artist known for his controversial take on beauty and found-art objects. Along with Liam Gillick, Tracey Emin, and Sarah Lucas, Hirst was part of the Young British Artists movement that rose to prominence in the early 1990s. “I have always been aware that you have to get people listening before you can change their minds,” he reflected. “Any artist's big fear is being ignored, so if you get debate, that's great.” Born on June 7, 1965 in Bristol, United Kingdom, Hirst was raised in Leeds. As a student at Goldsmiths College in London, his work caught the eye of the collector and gallerist Charles Saatchi, who became an early patron. Hirst’s The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living (1991)—a large vitrine containing an Australian tiger shark suspended in formaldehyde—was financed by Saatchi and helped to launch the artist’s career. Hirst went on to win the coveted Turner Prize in 1995. In 2012, he showed what went on to be one of his most controversial work in decades, the installation In and Out of Love, which consisted of two white windowless rooms in which over 9,000 butterflies flitted around and died. In 2015 Hirst opened the Newport Street Gallery in London, which grew from his long-term ambition to share his art collection with the public. The artist lives and works in London, United Kingdom. His works are held in the collections of the Tate Gallery in London, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, D.C., and the Rubell Family Collection in Miami. Inflatable Dolphin Painting in Tropical Jungle River Contemporary Pink Balloon

By Sofía Cristina Jiménez

Located in FISTERRA, ES

Contemporary tropical painting featuring a pink inflatable dolphin floating in a jungle river landscape, combining vibrant nature imagery with balloon animal aesthetics. This acrylic on Belgian linen painting by Sofía Cristina Jiménez presents a metallic pink dolphin depicted as an inflatable, balloon-like figure suspended above a calm tropical river. The work belongs to the Plastic Nature series, where animal forms are reinterpreted through synthetic visual language, introducing a subtle dialogue between natural ecosystems and artificial presence. Set within a dense jungle environment, the composition is built through layered greens, soft water reflections, and controlled atmospheric depth. The inflatable dolphin contrasts sharply with its surroundings through its smooth, reflective surface and saturated pink color, creating a focal point that is both playful and visually striking. This contrast reinforces the coexistence of organic and manufactured forms without resorting to overt narrative. The dolphin — a widely recognized and emotionally resonant animal — becomes here a transformed object, shifting from living being to constructed image. Its balloon-like condition introduces associations with lightness, leisure, and consumption, while its placement within a tropical river landscape suggests a quiet displacement rather than direct conflict. Within the Plastic Nature series, these inflatable animal figures operate as mediators between contemporary visual culture and ecological environments. This tropical dolphin painting...
