Biosca Sideboard in Stained Pine, Spain 1960s
By BIOSCA
Located in Hellouw, NL
Biosca sideboard in stained pine. This sideboard from the hand of the Spanish manufacturer Biosca is an absolute paragon of the brutalism style applied in furniture. Pure craftsmanship combined with a refined sense of detail and quality is what the makers have shown here. The corpus is connected at all corners by means of a brilliant tooth joint. Besides, this section rests on two sturdy and wide legs that both feature a striking cutout.Four relatively heavy doors are decorated with special geometric woodcuts that collectively form a beautiful pattern and add depth and dynamism. Small shadows alternate and give the object an air of mystery as it flirts with patterns similar to those found on 17th century Spanish doors...

Santee Sideboard Cabinet in Walnut
By Greg Mitchell
Located in Los Angeles, CA
The namesake of this piece is an alley one block from our Los Angeles studio, known for its bazaar-like display of stalls hawking clothes and textiles at wholesale prices. The scene is reminiscent of markets in Central America and, walking through it during breaks from the shop, one feels instantly transported out of the US.
