This contemporary landscape painting by Carol Young captures a rural scene of a barn in a field. The face of the barn, along with the surrounding field, are warm orange, yellow, and red tones, while the background and shadows cast by the structure are a cool lavender color, giving the viewer a strong sense of light and depth. The sky adds further balance to the composition and ties together the warm and cool colors of the foreground of the painting, with lighter tones layered together. This original painting is made with acrylic paint on gallery wrapped canvas, and has light blue painted sides.
