Oil on canvas painting by well known New England artist Charles Gordon Harris. The canvas has been laid down on foam core backing and has been recently cleaned. No apparent restoration. Newly framed in a silver gilt contemporary frame one and a half inches wide. Signed lower right. Overall framed size is 16 by 24 inches.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island, in 1891, Charles Gordon Harris lived in Lincoln, Saylesville, Rhode Island and studied painting at the Rhode Island School of Design with Cyrus Farnum, Stacy Tolman and George A. Hays. He was a member of the Providence Art Club; Providence Water Color Club and the South Country Art Association.
Harris exhibited locally at the Providence Art Club (won awards), the Providence Water Color Club and the South Country Art Association (won awards) and the Attleboro Museum of Art (won an award).
