This antique (probably turn of the century late 19th-early 20th) oil on wooden panel painting captures one of the most evocative views of Florence, Italy. From a belvedere square in Boboli Gardens the gaze opens on the monuments landmarks in Florence: Palazzo Vecchio (the old palace) the Medici home during renaissance and the cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore built in the 14th century. Better known as the Duomo or Brunelleschi's Dome it remains a miracle of design and engineering. Even today, 600 years later it remains the tallest building in Florence. We have visited the site to find out from which viewpoint the painter painted this beautiful work.
