Charles Nosotti Furniture
CHARLES NOSOTTI (ITALY)
Charles Nosotti originally came from Milan and was primarily a carver and gilder and his firm was known as a looking glass manufactory. Records show he had settled in Westminster as early as 1831. Nosotti produced a Victorian marquetry side cabinet in conjunction with Howard and Sons for J.D. Allcrofts house at Lancaster Gate, later removed to Stokesay Court, see lots 199 and 248 and sold Sotheby's 28th September 1994. He also produced a cabinet for the Countess Waldegrave for Strawberry Hill, exhibited at the 1862 London Exhibition.
