The lamp is in good condition, rewired and all parts working and rotating. The original lightswitch is also still present and working. Curt Fischer is well known for his innovative designs and still regarded as one of the greatest 20th-century inventors. At the time, just after WW1, recovering from the war, people worked long hours until late in the evening. The then-typical lamps would only cast light from the ceiling, causing the shadow of the worker’s body and head to cast shades over their projects.
