Cymn Wong’s style of mixed media paintings are developed alongside with pastel, crayon, acrylic and ink. Rooted from traditional Chinese ink-brush painting to contemporary New York Abstract Expressionism, Wong wields various free and fluent but forceful strokes and creative washing on canvas atop the heritage of her personal Zen calligraphy; in some cases, Cymn has collaged with traditional Chinese papier-mâché. Through the layering of multiple marks, colors and textures, or being used by perspective, she is able to balance her own spontaneity and control to accomplish the desired effect. When Wong applies to blend her canvas with splash-ink, free dyeing and deliberate sealing, her aim is to create a vivid and immersive sense of expanded spectrum that integrates the outsider viewers with the painting landscape. These stylistic elements combine to create an organic entity that is dynamic, engaging, and deeply contemplative. In exploring the blending entity of art and poetry as extrinsic “landscape” and intrinsic “soundscape”, the brushstrokes are hereby given fresh impetus by a single-unity involvement. Every brushstroke reflects an outer and inner state of creativity. Meanwhile, this embodied experience opens up a transformation and imagination of mindset. Wong declares, “By embracing plainness, simplicity and intimacy, my art emerges an insight for cultivating a cross-boundary ecological ethos. In most recent development of my paintings, I have been focusing on several key areas that are driving for a creative exploration. Firstly, I am placing a greater focus on the bean sprout as a central element of her work. The bean sprout is a crystalized symbol. Its unique shape evokes the numbers "0" and "1". The "0" of the bean sprout represents nothingness or emptiness, a void spectrum that is co-birthed with “1”. The "1", on the other hand, represents possibilities and growth. By incorporating the shape of the bean sprout into visual language, I link the binary concepts of "0" and "1" to convey a sense of stillness, calm, and openness in the other area of "0". Meanwhile a motion, another state of change comes birth in the open area of "1", building in a dynamic interplay between these two facets for growth and inherent continuously in every subsequent moment. Secondly, I attempt to create an alternative way of revealing the insightful wisdom of Zen philosophy, in a fusion of fluidity and freedom of abstract expressionism, siding along with the contemplative practice of Zen calligraphy. This integration of meditative peace and passionate energy presents a fresh landscape that is holistically dynamic and contemplative, evocative and reflective. The Zen strokes that feature prominently refer to the hope of splashing an endless creativity at any stage of life. Thirdly, in organizing a larger-scale of art forms, I gradually move to create a sense of unity and wholeness that highlights a stimulating dimension of cultural diversity in my painting canvas. Moreover, I strive to develop a stronger sense of spatiality by leaving white space blank within the compositions, which provides a stimulated sense of circulation and contingency, for an experimental interaction of fulfilling the gaps of different 3-D dimensions in life. Last but not the least I embrace my intuition of self-awareness under my personal practice of integrating multiple refreshing technical elements, that always plunging into the fundamental questions of man’s existence and the nature of living being. I appeal to the worldly communities for a spirit of connection and resonance that may well go beyond the surface of my painting art.” From 2022 to 2023, Cymn has extended a soul karma in her Washington saloon that spearheads to create a masterfully-suited-style of global ethos. The ethos showcases her accomplished selfhood of aesthetic views blending with both Eastern and Western cultures and languages. Wong attempts to vitalize the diversity of built-in imageries and present the visual art communities via a dynamic interaction of natural human passion with the uncontrollable social environment and the universe. In fact, Cynm’s lifelong commitments to bilingual poetry and expanded visual art have been widely applauded in multiple international platforms whereas her English...

Creating on the vibrant energy of abstract expressionism, this dynamic painting process celebrates the power of growth and transformation through the image of a sprouting plant which arms out as if it is to hold the totality of man’s world. It also stretched out its body to embrace the wonders of the living sky. Through a bold and striking composition, suppressed colors free and doted white strokes, the painting invites the viewer to explore the intricate details of the natural world and to the potential for endless possibilities that exists within us all in a new light. From 2022 to 2023, Cymn extended a soul karma in her Washington saloon that spearheads to create a masterful suited style of American ethos. The ethos showcases an accomplishment in self-realization of aesthetic views of both Eastern and Western cultures. Wong attempts to vitalize certain built-in imageries and present the visual world via a dynamic interaction for human passion with the environment and the universe. In retrospect about the reciprocity between poetry and art, Cymn’s artistic attainments are expanding into a vivid oasis that she has been stimulated in an international platform. "A Nonlinear Mind Veins Its White Sky" showcases the artist's skill in utilizing texture, color, and pattern to create a sense of inner dimension. The vivid brushes of Zen calligraphy add nuance to the piece, conveying a sense of emotion and creativity. The expansion of space (Chi or Qi) and extension of time (rhythm) are palpable, as if the painting canvas itself is a living, breathing entity that invites the viewer to explore its many layers of meaning and significance. Inspired by the dynamic energy of sprouting, this painting imagery captures the essence of growth and rapid transformation through a carefree and content approach. Through an upturned and striking compositional process, the artist hereby invites the viewer to explore the intricate details of a peaceful and natural world. From 2022 to 2023, Cymn extended a soul karma in her Washington saloon that spearheads to create a masterful suited style of American ethos. A New Bean Baby

By Cymn Wong

Located in Rockville, MD

It isn't just a painting canvas, but a breathing spectrum. Ephemeral beauty lies in its capture of the fleeting moments of warmth, tenderness and excitement. The sweet, pastel hues create a sense of gentle optimism, purity and innocence, as if the bean sprout was a newborn child. Through the use of scattering strokes and dots, the enriched painting varieties imbue a tiny sprout with continuous movement and vitality. The zigzag-simple, yet diagonal-powerful composition draws the eye towards open ends of the piece, evoking a symbolic essence of birth, renewal, and cycling. From 2022 to 2023, Cymn extended a soul karma in her Washington saloon that spearheads to create a masterful suited style of American ethos. Veins of Satirical Sad

By Cymn Wong

This work features a chaotic yet harmonious blend of colors and lines. "Veins of Satirical Sad" is a captivating imagery of abstract expressionism that vitalized a landscape with its raw, unbridled and dynamic integration. The canvas is punctuated by bold area of bluish-purple. A series of fluid, semi-swirling-white dotted lines that overlap and flow like white veins through the painting, zooming a hint of vague and insubstantial, which is perhaps reflected in the wielding brushstrokes and its with facility and unexpected combinations, conveying a sense of both stoic and resilience. The sweeping brushstrokes and jagged lines hereby convey a sense of tension and conflict, as if the canvas itself is struggling for balance. And yet, there is an allusive perception of beauty and gracefulness rooted deep into its composition, which tones for a hope of change in the midst of darkness. It is a thought-provoking and expressively emotional mind of art in which the core aesthetics of its new details and technical textures will have to be revealed upon individual’s different personal perspective. From 2022 to 2023, Cymn extended a soul karma in her Washington saloon that spearheads to create a masterful suited style of American ethos. The Sprout Is Bulky, While Its Bean Is Sulky

By Cymn Wong

Located in Rockville, MD

A bean sprout is hereby portrayed with striking contrast, depicted as a massive, but light in coloring presence, in which the majority of the canvas is occupied with its hulking stems and oversized leaves. The bean, on the other hand, is small and sullen, sitting at the base of the sprout with a downcast expression. The texture seal technique has been used to create areas of both positive and negative spatiality. Moreover, the Zen calligraphy freehand brush strokes add a sense of sluggish flow, a poignant reminder of the delicate balance between strength and vulnerability, and the ever-shifting interplay between these opposing forces. From 2022 to 2023, Cymn extended a soul karma in her Washington saloon that spearheads to create a masterful suited style of American ethos.
