Private Escape explores the idea of personal freedom hidden inside moments of humor, warmth, and apparent simplicity. At the center of the painting, an otter drifts effortlessly through a private Mediterranean pool, surrounded by sunlit plants, terracotta pots, cacti, and the quiet architecture of a secluded Moroccan courtyard. Beyond the terrace, the sea appears in the distance — open, calm, and unreachable in the same way as an imagined inner refuge. The scene feels playful and slightly absurd: the animal has entered a space that does not “belong” to it, yet behaves with complete ease, softness, and confidence.
