Davide Mosconi was an Italian painter, designer and musician. He studied at the Conservatorio di musica Giuseppe Verdi di Milano. In 1961, he moved to London, where he studied photography at the London College of Printing, then he moved to New York where he worked as an assistant of Richard Avedon and Hiro. From the artistic point of view, his debut was classified as anti-design. Collaborating with Ugo La Pietra and the Global Tools group (which he founded in 1974), he was close to the radical experimentation of Milano Poesia. In 1968, he came back to Milan where he exhibited with Il sogno di Davide. During the 1970s, he founded Studio X, a photography studio for fashion and advertising projects. In 1972, he exhibited with the short film Something to Believe In at the important exhibition, The New Domestic Landscape at the Museum of Modern Art, New York. His works have been displayed in prestigious institutions and galleries all over the world, such as the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, the Venice Biennial, the Murray and Isabella Rayburn Foundation in New York, and Galleria Milano, among others.
