Between 1864 and 1917 Edward Henry Holder exhibited 33 paintings at the Royal Society of British Artists and numerous others at the Royal Academy and the British Institution. Late in his career Holder made an extended trip to Southern Africa to visit the site of his son’s death a few years earlier in the Boar War.
