Our carafe colection is a tribute to the traditional pitchers of the regions of Tonala´ and Tlaquepaque in Jalisco, these two regions developed during the period of the conquest as pottery centers.
Originally these bottles were used to store water in addition to keeping it a few degrees below room temperature, their low temperature cooking allows the jug to breathe water and this in contact with the outside air cools the jug and therefore the liquid inside.

Fine and rare Jugendstil / Art Nouveau / Secession / Arts & Crafts Erhard & Sohne footed round tray or bowl with amazing inlaid wood veneer and patinated brass showing a dragonfly and leafy branch decoration, Germany circa 1900. The presented and chosen motif reminds of the gorgeous lampshades made by Tiffany Studios, New York at the same period of time. The offered unmarked bowl which has a width of 19,3 cm / 7.60 inches and which has a height of 3 cm / 1.18 inches rests on three ball feet and stays in very good to excellent original condition with a nice and warm patina, minor typical and characteristic wear consistent with age and use. The high-end antique Jugendstil bowl shows superior craftsmanship and design elements by the renowned designers, Erhard & Sohne, established 1844 in Germany. The famous German company was granted the world patent for the manufacture of brass inlay in 1904.
