HEROIC SPIRIT is a hand drawn limited edition lithograph after the sketch by Frederick Hart for his sculpture entitled "Heroic Spirit" created for the 1992 Atlanta Summer Olympics. HEROIC SPIRIT was printed using hand lithography on archival Arches printmaking paper 100% acid free. This very special limited edition lithograph is a tribute to the Olympic Spirit - whose guiding principle/motto is the hendiatris Citius, Altius, Fortius, which is Latin for "Faster, Higher, Stronger". It was proposed by Pierre de Coubertin upon the creation of the International Olympic Committee in 1894. ... Coubertin said " These three words represent a programme of moral beauty. Heroic Spirit, printed in shades of Khaki green gray, black and white, depicts four classic male and female nude figures reaching skyward, expressively drawn in graphite and white pencil, their lifelike human forms achieving the artists intention of Olympian ideals.
