Rare Art Nouveau perfume bottle by Gallé, Nancy, France, executed in finely crafted cameo glass and dating to the early twentieth century. Standing 12.5 cm high, the bottle features a warm amber ground overlaid with a deep brown layer intricately acid-etched and wheel-carved to depict stylized floral and foliate motifs.
The elegant tapering form is enhanced by its original gilt-metal collar, reflecting its intended use as a luxury vanity object. The decoration exemplifies Gallé's celebrated fascination with nature and his mastery of layered glass techniques, hallmarks of the French Art Nouveau movement and the École de Nancy.
