George Nilsson Furniture

George Nilsson was Danish and worked for Georg Jensen Company. In 1925, he left to design for Gero. Gero was founded in 1912 as Gerofabriek in Zeist, Holland. In the 1920s, Gero began hiring renowned artists to design their collection, including Chris van der Hoef, A.D. Copier and Nilsson. Nilsson worked primarily at the Danish branch of Gero, which made pieces for the domestic Danish market.

Located in Atlanta, GA

These lovely Art Deco bookends were designed by George Nilsson (1888-1975) for Gero, Netherlands. The cute rabbit shape is made of chromed metal with a long plate. The bookends are engraved with the "GERO" factory hallmark and the artist's monogram "GN" at the end of each base. These lovely bookends are a great addition to your interior or bookcase library. The bookends set is in good condition, with minor wear on the metal, but it does not significantly affect the overall appearance. Measurements for one bookend: 5.50 in wide (14 cm) x 3.94 in deep (10 cm) x 4.75 in high (12 cm). Note: George Nilsson was Danish and worked for the Georg Jensen Company.
